PPA & Industrial Decarbonisation

The decarbonization of industry is crucial for achieving climate neutrality in Europe. Companies are increasingly committed to reducing their greenhouse gas emissions. This trend is visible across all industries and affects small, medium and large players alike. The ambitious climate targets also face major challenges. The current high energy prices and concerns for energy security pose a substantial risk, especially for energy-intensive actors.

This raises the challenge of pursuing an energy strategy that can secure a cost-efficient and decarbonised procurement of electricity and other energy sources in times of a volatile market environment . This also regularly plays a role in location decisions. In order to ensure this, a strategy must be developed that meets the company’s requirements and fits the market conditions.

Based on our many years of experience in the European energy markets and with the help of our established energy economic models, we support our industrial clients in the following areas:

  • Decarbonisation strategies & scenarios: We develop scenarios for your company and its sites to reduce CO₂ emissions and develop measures from them.
  • Energy market data: We provide you with fundamental analyses of the development of energy industry commodities (electricity, gas, biomethane, hydrogen, etc.). These are regularly used for investment decisions or the evaluation of contracts. Find out more.
  • Strategy consulting for green power procurement: We identify the optimal procurement strategy for your company in joint workshops. Here we use our know-how from the European energy markets to reflect on the energy-economic opportunities and risks of various options.
  • Power Purchase Agreements (PPA): Support in the PPA procurement process, including preliminary considerations, operational implementation of tenders, energy-economic evaluation and advice in the negotiation phase.
  • Valuation models: With a model designed for electricity consumers, we optimise your green power procurement, tailored to the load profile and requirements of your company. In addition, we evaluate European PPA sites with high geographical resolution and provide you with an assessment basis for your decision-making process.
  • Modelling retail electricity prices: For location decisions, industrial electricity consumers increasingly require long term forecasts of retail prices (incl. grid charges, levies). Für Standortentscheidungen benötigen industrielle Stromverbraucher zunehmend Langristprognosen von Endkundenpreisen (inkl. Netzentgelte, Umlagen).

In addition, we design customised projects that provide you with the best possible support for your strategic decision.
