Routes to market and procurement of green electricity

The sale and procurement of electricity from renewable sources, for example via power purchase agreements or a regional correlation between green power producers and green power consumers, play an increasingly important role in a competitive electricity market with declining renewable tariffs on the one hand and attractive electricity market revenues on the other. In addition, the demand for regional green power is increasing tremendously. In the future, the direct or regional sales route will be an important pillar in addition to feed-in tariffs and tenders, but it requires a systematic and energy-economically sound assessment that goes far beyond the evaluation of an asset which just uses a regulated subsidy.

  • For municipal utilities and electricity distributors: Do you want to strategically position your corporation for the future through “regionality” or purchase and re-market green electricity through PPAs? We work with you to develop a risk-adjusted and marketable procurement strategy, new sales products to combine PPAs and end-customer sales, and regional supply to customers. In the process, we work our way through the jungle of German regulations surrounding direct supply, self-consumption and supply in a spatial context and make opportunities and risks transparent.
  • For project developers and operators: Where can “regionality” generate additional revenue? We explain and optimise the utilisation of regularly exemptions (e. g. reduced or cancelled network fees, taxes) in the regional or direct supply of customers. To this end, we develop strategies for electricity tax exemption and direct supply and support you in their implementation in the form of concepts and products.
  • For direct marketers: We systematise the various route-to-market concepts within and outside the EEG mechanism and support you in the further development of your products as well as the optimisation of the portfolio of new, existing and continued operation projects.
  • For industrial customers and generation asset operators: Do you want to secure your supply of green electricity in the long term or sell it? We evaluate the opportunities and risks of the possible constructs and provide you with guidance on contract design.
