PPAs for continued operation and new construction projects – an economic consideration for wind and PV (Kopie) (Kopie) (Kopie) (Kopie) (Kopie)

Sharply increased power prices have led to increased interest in the subject of PPAs: Firstly, for RE projects in continued operation and, secondly, as future revenue alternatives to a tendering system. These developments are already underway throughout Europe – in Germany, things are starting to move.

In this workshop, we will show how these developments are to be classified and what assessments market players must make in this environment.

Developments in Germany and the European context

  • Power price and market value developments (wind, PV)
  • PPA developments in Europe

Use cases for PPA and case studies

  • New and existing projects within and outside the market premium model
  • PPA design elements and mode of action from the supplier and supplier’s perspective using case studies

Special case continued operation

  • Corporate- and merchant PPAs for existing plants after the end of EEG subsidies
  • New assessment approaches and challenges for operators and offtakers

YOUR BENEFIT

  • Classification of PPAs (use cases, limits and benefits)
  • Tasks of the various market players
  • Opportunities and risks for the provider, but also opportunities and risks for the offtaker
  • Economic evaluation based on case studies

You benefit from a well-founded and neutral approach – on the one hand from the perspective of the provider and on the other hand from the perspective of the offtaker.

Workshop-structure

  1. Motivation for PPAs and previous experience
  2. Use case (corporate-) PPAs: areas of application for new and existing projects, evaluation approaches and case studies
  3. Special case of continued operation: allocation of roles, calculation and valuation options
  4. Corresponding concrete case studies
