Auction Studies Wind Onshore France

In France, tenders for wind onshore regulate access to feed-in support scheme which is based on a CfD system. In cooperation with our partner WattaBase, enervis offers detailed modelling of these wind onshore auctions to support market players in defining their optimal bids.  For this purpose, we draw on detailed data on the bidding potential for the auctions from WattaBase as well as our comprehensive economic auction model. The enervis auction model is based on two decisive variables:

  1. Quantity: how much bid potential is available and will participate in the tender?
  2. Bid price: what bid prices can be achieved in the corresponding bid situation and where is the expected marginal price in the auction?

An extensive data set with wind turbines that can participate in the tender, which is regularly updated, forms the backbone of our auction modelling. In addition to this detailed capacity data, high-resolution yield data (wind speeds) and cost assumptions benchmarked in the market flow into an economic efficiency calculation, which is carried out for a large number of turbine type combinations. From this input data, an optimal bid price can be determined for each project in a Monte Carlo simulation. Calculated bids are lined up in a bid price curve, which can also be used to determine the probability of an award.
