Optimal transformation path for district heating

Operators of heating networks are faced with the challenge of converting heat generation to climate-neutral sources. Not only the initial portfolio and local climate-neutral heat potentials play a role in the decision-making process. Numerous influencing factors such as technology costs, subsidies, CO2 budgets and future fuel price developments make transformation planning a complex evaluatio

With our optimisation models, we determine an optimal investment path and plant deployment for district heating generation up to 2045 based on your individual situation. The results can be used, among other things, within the framework of transformation plans according to BEW.

SERVICES

  • Optimised investment path and hourly optimised plant deployment of the generation portfolio until 2045
  • Sensitivity analyses, e.g. with regard to energy source prices or technology parameters
  • Optional: Inclusion of the results of the local heat demand modelling with the enervis heat market model.

RESULTS

  • Development of district heating until 2045:
    • Installed generation capacity
    • Development of the generation mix
    • Development of CO2 emissions
    • Development of the heat production costs
