Transformation Strategy Heating Network

In the coming years, operators of heating grids will face the challenge of converting heat generation to climate-neutral sources and at the same time meeting the long-term decline in heat demand by expanding and densifying the grid. In doing so, the transformation must be understood as a long-term project and numerous external influencing factors such as demand and price developments, local potentials and the existing funding framework must be included in the planning.

With our models for heating market development, optimal investment paths and plant deployment, we work with you to develop a transformation strategy for the heating network and support you in drawing up a transformation plan according to BEW.

SERVICES

Determination of the optimal transformation path until 2045

  • Development of a suitable investment strategy for network densification, expansion and conversion of the heat generation portfolio.
  •  Results:
    • Regionalised expansion and densification potential for the heating network
    • Sensible investment path and hourly optimised plant utilisation of the generation portfolio until 2045
    • Development of district heating up to 2045: Installed generation capacity
    • Development of the generation mix
    • Development of CO2 emissions
    • Development of the heat production costs

Preparation of the transformation plan according to BEW

  • Documentation of the results of the transformation strategy
  • Derivation of packages of measures
  • Addition of further content according to the requirements of BEW
