Switzerland: Europe’s Energy Industry Hub. Study on the Drivers of the Swiss Energy Market – Market Outlook 2050
In addition to energy policy decisions within Switzerland, the development of the Swiss energy landscape is significantly influenced by the energy industry developments in neighboring regions.
This realization is not really new, because Switzerland has always been a kind of “energy hub” in Europe. What is new and significant, however, is that the previously known energy industry structures within Europe are changing ever more rapidly and permanently as a result of climate protection efforts.
Against this background, the study examines the emerging developments in Europe and their impact on the Swiss energy industry. In particular, the study examines the question: “What role will Switzerland, as part of the energy supply in Europe, play in the future? Through the analysis, options for action of the market and the own company can be shown.
