Switzerland: Outlook 2050

In addition to energy policy decisions within Switzerland, the development of the Swiss energy landscape will be decisively influenced by the developments in the energy industry in the neighboring regions. This is no surprise, as Switzerland has always been kind of an “energy hub” in Europe.

On the other hand, it is new and significant that the previously known energy industry structures within Europe are changing faster and permanently as a result of climate protection efforts. The study deals in particular with the question: “What role will Switzerland play in future, as part of the energy supply in Europe?”.
